Oatie Friendly Hotels & Restaurant Guide

Montreal:

  • Welcominns
    • Complimentary Breakfast - European Continental style *****
    • Has Free reliable WiFi
    • Swimming pool (with complimentary towels), hot tub and Sauna  (as a guest it's hard to find a public pool, our kids are young so we don't want to spend hours in a pool, just 20-30 minutes and this was great!)
    • Location great, right in good food central.
    • Rooms basic, but clean, with TV, Fridge, hairdryer, desk the usual.  For the price we liked it and would go back without hesitation.
    • Staff were pleasant.
    • If there was a con, it was meant to be a nonsmoking hotel, although our room didn't smell of smoke, you could smell it in the corridor.
    • No hot food available but you don't want any having so so so many nice restaurants within a few mins drive.
    • Welcominns Boucherville, Québec

  •  Quality Suites, Anjou
    • Did do Special ABR rates, no pool, staff were nice, room similar quality to Welcominns, I would say it was slightly plusher, like better wardrobe facility, but the ensuite you can get locked out off.
    • You have to pay extra for the fridge.
    • When I stayed in March 2010 the service was excellent, when we went back in July, the service had deteriorated, and the housekeeping staff had a bad attitude...
    • The Restaurant independent but attached to the hotel and offers room service, is great.  The service is great and the food is of a good standard and good value, they have the standard, pizzas, burgers and spaghetti to name a few...
    • The location is nice in the shopping district of Anjou....
Restaurants:

  • Moghel Tandoori
    • OK, words cannot describe how good this restaurant is... like seriously.
    • I'm Indian and well, my family and I love a good Indian restaurant, I'm originally from the UK.  We've vetted them around the world.  This has to be in my top 4 EVER.
    • Where do I start.... well apart from the food is AMAZING...
    • The Service is Fantastic, the owner is just so kind and caring and so welcomming of Oatie and really make us all feel special.
    • The didn't mind us splittng up adult mains and in a blink of an eye everything was always through out the courses in mind of our family of 5 even though we only had two mains, with a few extra side dishes...
    • We're dairy free, and they ensured that we had a awesome dining experience, they made Oatie feel special with a lovely cup and straw and spoiled our other two too.
    • It was the nicest, lovely decor, cleanest, nicest Indian food that I've had across Canada since I was a child... (most my family are Canadian).
    • If you have Cerebral Palsy, you'll be Welcome.
    • It doesn't' get 5 stars, it gets 10 **********
    • Moghel Tandoori, 2770, boul. Jacques-Cartier Est, Longueuil, (Quebec) J4N 1P8 (450) 647-5550
    • Moghel Tandoori
    • (and no, I am not related to the owner, I just couldn't believe their lovely food and hospitality)
Buffalo USA

  • Holiday Inn Express (near Hamburg)
    • Well apart from the baggage cart
      • The Special needs room was pretty good.
      • They had braile in the parking lot, they had easy to reach drape handles, a desk suited for a wheelchair.  A Shower that one could roll in and sink and toilet.  All very good.
      • If there was a criticism, it was that you wouldn't be able to wheel in your room very easily... as the door was by the exterior wall.  Nor could you open the door as you know how hotel doors swing back.
      • On the other side they had a special phone and they had a doorbell light alert which was a nice touch.
      • The breakfast room they had a sign saying they would help or serve you breakfast if you needed help.
      • It also had a pool too.
